The engineer's story about his profession and career in Abi
What is production? This is a large mechanism, complex systems of which make up workshops and sites. Engineers ensure uninterrupted operation, monitor life support and the work of production. One of them is Kirill Sergeev, who spoke about his duties and career path in the Abi company.

"I have been working at Abi since 2018. I came here as a young specialist with no work experience. At first it was a little unusual to work at such a large enterprise, but I want to thank my colleagues who helped me adapt to a new place and shared their experience, which is especially valuable for me."
– Kirill, tell us about your work. What duties does the engineer perform?
"I like that working as an engineer is a big responsibility/ My responsibilities include managing the staff of technical staff: handymen; workers for complex maintenance of buildings and structures, etc. The engineer also organizes maintenance work, conducts inspections of buildings, structures and premises. In addition, I work with a large number of documents: I draw up reports of completion, technical specifications, estimations, and that's not all."
– What factors were you interested in when choosing a job in the first place?
"The main criteria for me were stability and, of course, a decent salary. The Abi company was suitable for both criteria. The engineer's work is paid adequately. Separately, I would like to note that the company is interested in the development of young professionals, provides an opportunity to study and obtain an additional profession at a corporate university."
– Have your impressions of the company changed after 4 years of work?
"I am very glad that I work at Abi. Comfortable working conditions have been created for employees here and many bonuses are provided, including free meals, discounts on corporate products, as well as corporate transport that delivers employees to their place of work."

Abi is an example of how a regional meat processing plant was able to become a leading food producer in Russia. It all started with a small workshop and a small staff, which Vyacheslav Zavalov joined in the late 1990s.

"I came to the company on the recommendation of friends. At first he worked as a loader at the dumpling production. Then the company began to expand: the dumpling shop was moved to another site, and in its place a sausage production was opened, where I was transferred. Since then, I have been working at the Starodvorskie kolbasy factory."
Over 20 years of working in the company, Vyacheslav Zavalov has changed several positions and found a job to his liking. For more than 10 years he has been working as a mince compiler:
"My responsibilities include quality control and weighing of raw materials, food additives, spices and other components for making sausage minced meat in accordance with the recipe and their transportation."
For many years of experience Vyacheslav Zavalov has established himself as a competent employee and an experienced mentor:
"I have trained quite a lot of new employees. Most of them quickly absorb knowledge and become qualified specialists, and the most hardworking go for promotion.
For all the time I have been working, I have never had the thought of leaving the company. First of all, I like what I do and where I work. Abi is a large federal company and it is pleasant to realize that, thanks, including to my work, millions of Russians and residents of other countries buy our products. Well, secondly, of course, it's a decent salary."
Qualified specialists work in the Abi team. After all, one of the four values of the company is competence, and an important component of its DNA is professional people who deserve international recognition. Among them is the corporate coach Lyubov Hrebtan. In 2023, the employee proved herself at two professional events at once, the scale of which is impressive! She became the winner of the 18th All-Russian competition of coaching skills BuroAkzent-2023 in the nomination "Methodologist". In addition, Lyubov's work took first place in the category "Content elaboration" at the 5th International Competition of Business Training Methodologists.
"It's great to help people grow and improve efficiency. It's great when everyone realizes something new for themselves during the learning process. This is to talk about the personal. And globally, we, coaches, influence the productivity of people who do business. I'm not afraid of big words, we are making an important contribution to the development of Abi."
A psychologist by education, Lyubov trains employees to set goals, form motivation, manage time, overcome stress, grow personally and professionally. She devoted almost 6 years to the company: she got a job as a corporate coach, and then headed the distance learning sector. And yet, the heroine admits, it was not easy for her without full-time work with people. After several years of leadership, Lyubov returned to the development and conduct of face-to-face trainings with a baggage of new knowledge.
"My first supervisor helped me integrate into the Abi processes and start a career here, and the immediate supervisor at the moment always supports me in everything. When you and your colleagues are on the same wavelength, speak the same language, complement each other's ideas – it's great."
During the speeches, the charismatic coach easily conveys information to the audience, which she herself painstakingly structures in the preparation process and successfully does it, since Lyubov is a methodologist. The coach has mastered this additional competence in the Abi company.
"When I came to Abi, my methodological experience was minimal. But thanks to immersion and self-improvement, I discovered an interesting direction for self-realization. Both competitions in which I recently took part are about methodology. And, as practice has shown, this is not just a useful addition to coaching, but an indicator of professional level," Lyubov shares his observations.
Creation of new training programs and updating of already proven ones, development of creative formats of interaction with the audience – all these tasks for Lyubov Hrebtan are the reason why you want to go to your favorite job even on Saturday.
"I'm thinking about taking more complex programs into development. I have already offered several options to the manager. For example, I am interested in developing business games in which employees will be able to develop their skills and receive feedback in the format of activity."
In 2021, Lyubov took part for the first time in a professional competition outside of her main job, and the choice fell on the All-Russian award "Best in Digital". The heroine performed well and took second place in the nomination "Online methodologist". Such a result gave the Abi corporate trainer a boost of energy: I wanted, Lyubov laughs, to show up for all possible contests at once.
"First I registered for one professional event, then I found out about the second, no less significant one. I remember it was a day off. In the table, I divided the stages of each contest by days and months, correlated, estimated… And decided: "Sing or swim!" Got involved in both."
The corporate trainer has been undergoing competitive tests for almost three months. The competition was high! However, Lyubov Hrebtan confidently coped with all the qualifying stages and became the leaders of both competitions. The results of the events were summed up online and in addition to congratulations, each participant received feedback from top Russian methodologists. This, the corporate coach assures, is the main prize for a professional: a competent assessment helps to improve in their business.
"Contests make you feel the course of life, your professionalism. I was so tense at the moment! Literally pulled all the knowledge out of myself and put it into programs. I thank my fellow coaches who supported me and gave feedback on projects. I was always thinking about them, asking for advice. And one of the gifts for the winner of BuroAkzent-2023 was three mentoring sessions with an expert. I will work on the real requests of Abi in order to then apply the program in practice."
Abi is a leading manufacturer of convenient and easy—to-prepare food products. According to the GfK consumer panel, Abi is the leader in sales in all categories of presence in the territory of the Russian Federation: "sausage products", "frozen semi-finished products" and "frozen fully finished products", the company's market share is 13.1%, 10.6% and 16.1%, respectively.
By the end of 2022, the company has invested 8.2 billion rubles in its development. Sales volume reached 390 thousand tons, revenue — 71.8 billion rubles. The tax deductions of the Abi, one of the largest taxpayers in the region, amounted to 6.3 billion rubles. In addition, in 2022, the company entered the list of backbone enterprises of the Russian Federation that ensure the country's food safety.

Abi supplies throughout Russia and 10 countries of the world, plans to expand towards the Middle East and Asia. Mongolia joined the export list a year ago. At the same time, the company actively performs on international platforms. So, at the end of 2022, Abi presented products in Saudi Arabia and Vietnam, and the spring of 2023 began with an exhibition in the United Arab Emirates.
"We are looking at more distant markets. All the plants that we are building are state—of—the-art, and they meet all the requirements of industrial safety that are imposed by government agencies not only in Russia, but also in other countries," says Tatiana Trifonova, head of the Abi company.

In 2023, the Abi is preparing to launch two new production facilities. One of them, a unique three—storey factory with a production capacity of 500 tons per day, will produce boiled sausages and sausages, and the other - 250 tons of fully prepared products, such as nuggets, Foodgital and "Chebupeli". The total amount of attracted investments for the expansion of production will be about 16 billion rubles.

Additional capacities will allow to increase the production of new products. First of all, these are plant products of the new generation of Foodgital, the development of which belongs to Abi technologists. Since the end of last year, the company has been creating analogues of its popular meat products — chebureks, "Chebupeli", nuggets and burger patties — based on vegetable protein, peas and wheat.
The new Foodgital product has already been certified for compliance with all quality criteria in Saudi Arabia, and also went on sale on the platforms of Russian online delivery services. Together with the vegetable line, Abi has released dessert pastries "Chebupai" — sweet pies with cherry and apple fillings. The company plans to produce 200 tons of this product per month.

The launch of two new production facilities will entail the creation of 3,000 additional jobs. And right now the company employs more than 10.5 thousand people. All employees have the opportunity to undergo additional training and improve their qualifications at a Corporate University. In addition, in order to train exclusive personnel, the Abi plans to introduce its own training program at an agricultural college in the Vladimir region.

Abi's portfolio includes brands: Foodgital, "Goryachaya shtuchka", "Vyazanka", "Starodvorye", "Bavarushka", "Yadrena Kopot", "Dugushka". In the recent past, the company positioned itself as a meat processing enterprise, but, guided by the expectations of consumers, expanded its offer and adjusted its mission. Abi today is a manufacturer of convenient and easy—to-prepare food products, which is expanding for customers with different taste preferences.
The Abi company takes care of the health of its employees. At the stage of employment, the applicant undergoes a mandatory medical commission in a private clinic. The future employer takes care of all the start-up costs, and then organizes scheduled examinations and ensures the operation of medical offices at each enterprise.
One of the most convenient formats of the checkup is a consultation in the "Mobile Health Center". Several times a year, mobile medical complexes arrive on the territory of the enterprise and the employees of the Abi, at will, virtually on the job, undergo diagnostics. Prevention allows Abi employees to monitor their health status in dynamics, as well as detect diseases at an early stage and prevent their development.

The traditional campaign of the company is "Donor Day": a mobile blood transfusion station opens quarterly on the territory of the enterprise. Every year the event is gaining more and more popularity, the lists of applicants are filled in the first hours after the announcement of the recruitment. Dozens of Abi employees join the life-saving initiative and help patients in need of transfusion recover from serious injuries, illnesses, accidents. In addition, active blood renewal reduces the risks of cardiovascular diseases and stimulates the immunity of donors. And the company, in turn, encourages the participants of the action with food packages and additional days off to recuperate.
In addition to medical diagnostics and "Donor Day", the company provides free vaccination against mass infectious diseases such as influenza and coronavirus. Prevention is the basis of health. The Abi strictly monitors compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological norms provided by the state. Thanks to the attentive attitude to the health of employees, the company not only continued to work steadily, but also managed to increase production volumes in the midst of the pandemic.
